CHILLAXIN': chill + relaxing

Mis amigos y mis amigas, kawan-kawanku, rakan-rakanku, my friends..... Bienvenidos a mi pagina para mis amigos y amigas, (welcome to my page for my friends) i am so far successful in my little blurb scrolling thing, so you guys just pick a name u think u know and read what i have to say about him or her. I will be forever indebted to this people for the friendships we've had, no matter what happens when we move on. Btw, the list of ppl is far from done, so keep checking back to see the blurb about u! life always brings u new things, friends included, and since i started college, it's been all about making new friends. and i'm glad i'm here. things have worked out for the better, thanks to my new friends. it's like, when u live with ppl, u get to be real good friends with them, hence julie, marg and gabby! and then mark and gavin....lol. it's been fun social-wise. con mucho amor- Aliaa (updated March 23rd, 2006)

Lori is a talented saxophone player and a great friend. We've known each other since freshman yr high school, which is a great thing to be able to say coz high school can break up friendships too. She's studying in New Orleans, doing Jazz Studies at Loyola. We've gone thru the likes of dealing w/ Roger, Blake, Tony, and too many other boys for me to mention, lol.. and lunch in the stinkin' band room, english w/ markham, phone call after phone call, pictures, xanga, gossipin (i think...), too many AP's for lor, none for me, some wars w/ other ppl...and countless other moments.

movies, and music...definitely...and now we're both uprooting from a familiar place to explore something new. we prolly will only miss out on the phone convos part, hopefully (too expensive, i should think), we'll still do the chatting and blogging.
Lian is a very good artist and now spends most of her time either doing her drawings, driving, or preparing for college. Believe it or not, i've known her even longer than Lor, since 8th grade....yes, i just love how we r still friends even after both of us moved. She draws on everything from slips of ads that you get int he mail (which i call junk, but she puts it to use) to her journal/book thingy. She drew a Hermes once, i still have it. she made a copy, so i took the copy and i think she still has the original.

She was my lunch buddy the first 2 years of high school, before she left it to yvette. She's very quiet, but i know her better than that and so i can say that she gets mad if i confuse up her birthday (which i always do) and that she is actually quite talkative. LOL. She types the longest e-mails you can imagine, telling me about some manga stories that she's been reading or her cats that she's been spoiling. We went to see ANCHORMAN together, and that was possibly the most horrible movie...gah...oh well, it was good to see her again after some years. nothing like an outing at ol' krikorian...
Cameron is a baller, as he would say. He's Mr.Popular, always surrounded by too many girls. hahaha...yeah, yea cam...u know i luv u man. anyways, he's a great guy, loves his trucks/cars. Boys, what can u do, rite?

Anyway, i've known him the shortest of all my friends ('cept jess, known her the same length), that is since junior yr. Even that seems like forever ago. He is a good listener, even if he doesn't know what to say to certain problems. He has fun and enjoys life, i believe, which is a good way to start anything. He can be super serious sometimes coz he's actually quite a responsible person. He works at trader joe's, where countless people has visited him, but not me. He was a football player and excelled at it, w/ me commenting about his plays the day after he makes 'em. He's a family driven guy coz he's home most of the time that he's free (other than certain parties, of course), and loves his little sisters.
Richie...is one who would completely understand the meaning of "chillaxin'". He's truly almost always too relaxed, in fact. He's into boats and Catalina Island and his gf...hahahh, who is jen. anyways, he's a drama guy too...very into lighting. if you were to visit the little theater at arcadia high, you would see something called the "luxury box", if i'm not mistaken, made by Richie. he's quiet at a glance, but fun and understanding once you get to know him.

countless phone convos makes him a good listener too. his model boats are his pride. he doesn't speak much of fishing, but does fish when he's at catalina. his brothers look like him..hahahaha. although i can't tell them 2 apart (the bros, not richie) on the phone...i first saw him in freshman yr, when he was performing at showcase. but didn't meet him formally till sophomore year class w/ barbour. a totally chillaxed class. lots of fun. but richie can be serious too, when it comes to things for photo or drama. i luv him as much as i do cam, lor, lian, jules, nena...yvette, jess...etc. lol.
Julie!!!! she rocks...and she's going to college actually near me (tho she says it's like 7 hrs still). known her since 8th grade, as long as lian, yup. i think, my second frined made when i first got to the u.s. we endured everything from swindler's class to senior activities day. she's a speechie, or was, i should say. she's always there handing out the tightest hugs to me, thanx much jules, i love ya.

i have no idea what jules is majoring in, but she'll be great at it, whatever it might be. she's always visiting her older sisters in new york and she looks a lot like 'em. she's hyper most of the time, believing in the thought that being down is really no good for anyone anyway. Before i left in january, we had lunch and we talked about random things like her parents, whom i've never asked about really, and about how i have 2 of the loudest people in the world as my friends (her and nena), and i love that about both of 'em.
Nena!!! formal name: Alejandra Malhotra. hahaha....i've known nena since 9th grade, which seems ages ago. she hands out tight hugs too...so thanx much for that. we've been thru the likes of schlotterbeck's morning math classes, roger, shapan, playing hide and seek, watching american pie, me trying to tutor her in math (she ended up falling asleep instead), lunch in speech class, p.e, her travelling everywhere and me being jealous, and sr activities day. she's smarter than she admits to be, and is gonna be attending occidental.

well, one memory i like of our time as together was one lunch time, where i was just sitting and enjoying my noodles. i forgot how i came to be w/ nena, but she was there, and we were sitting next to the teacher's lounge. so, we chatted while sharing the apparently delicious noodles. and julie came along. and so we talked about i dunno what, but were having fun w/ nena's knowledge of the french language. she was shouting "le faq" (sounds like the f word), and almost challenging the teachers in the lounge to come out and shoo us away. it was good ol' fun. no one cared that we were on the floor, freezing our butts off...lol. thx for everything, nena, love ya.
the very hard to take a photograph of----Katherine Jost, a.k.a SKYE. known her since 8th grade. she's a rocker...and a multi-tasking one at that, currently holding too many jobs for me to remember. she even became my sister's sis. hahaha...it's been a long 5 years that i've known her. since the days of freshman history & english class till the days of going off campus to pick up lunch at papa john's. she's into everything from the beatles to the ramones. lol...told ya, rocker on the loose.

going thru the likes of passing notes to the teacher's son, chuck, robert, robin, debbie, thinzar, and jess in the mornings, and having a surprise party at her house for some other ppl....she loves her old truck, and axl rose, and billy idol..and, gov woulda equaled suffering w/o skye passing notes. i'll miss ya....
presenting, ze lovely yvette garcia...my lunch buddy. i don't quite remember when or how i met her, but no matter coz we've spent countless lunches just chatting away and trying to figure out if she likes richie (hahahahaha, inside joke)or if blake was worth my time..hahahahaha...good times, good times. she's going to cal state l.a, if i'm not mistaken.

yvette's a stronghearted person coz of the things she's been thru. i hope we stay true friends to each other for much, much longer. i went to some football games with her and even homecoming. mandie was trying to make me salsa in utter hopelessness coz i've never salsa-ed before. lol. we were having a good girls' nite out at disneyland. we danced w/ ppl we didn't know, and tried to take pics of the dj's. lol. that was lovely...she's a good friend to me, another person (along w/ everyone on the list) who has helped me thru high school.
Alifah, a.k.a Ifah is super smart, super talented, focused, and a lovely young lady. She's become like my own sister...te amo mucho, mi hermana menor. lol. She plays the violin and is a dedicated player at that. She has 2 older sisters (who r also near and dear to me) who r both at Berkeley, but more about 'em in their own blurbs. Alifah's starting her sr yr in a week, so i send her all the luck and dedication she's gonna need to apply to the schools.

I've known Alifah since 2002 or 2003, i'm not sure, but we've been good friends to each other since. She's not quite the cook like her sis, but she takes care of the dishes and she can make delicous brownies. Alifah likes to shop and read and watching movies and definitely eating, especially popcorn and malaysian food. She's dedicated to her work, and has grand visions for her future, which someone as smart as Ifah should have. She's a good writer and can prolly make it into princeton, harvard and yale, but then turn it down so she'd go to like UCSD or Stanford. Ivy Leaguer in the making, but she's true blue californian girl, wants to stay in good ol' calif.
Adilah, a.k.a Dilah is also super smart, a good singer, dedicated and a multi tasker like her sisters. She's currently at UC Berkeley doing Chemical Engineering. She likes to dance and party as much as to focus on her work. She's had lots of work experience and I'm impressed at her time-managing skill. At one point of time, she was working Target, quite a few APs and still socializing w/ the Malaysian crowd. That would describe her crazy sr yr. She's enjoying college a lot, and tells me i'll have fun too...so i'm looking forward to college, even tho i'll be a bit homesick for the first 2 qtrs or so..haha.

She wanted UCSD actually, but i dunno what made her change her mind to think that the company of her sister is good for her. Dilah's adventurous and makes great 7-layer bars....yummilicious, as she'd say. She can be as serious and as lighthearted as she ever is. We've been thru the likes of everything from gin rummy to nasty consul's wife to singing karaoke to our parents worrying about kids our age having a boyfriend. Hahahaa....te amo mucho tambien, mi hermana mayor.
Nur Hidayah Kasdi, also called Hidayah, or Nur or Ms. Kasdi or yayah or yayai...hahaha....she's also at berkeley, but doing civil engineering. We're all becoming engineering nuts...hahahaha...anyway, she's enjoying college, but not trying to overload herself (i hope). She's a multi-tasker, and one who understands how it feels to be the oldest child, and a daugther at that too. However, after she left for Cal, her sisters took charge and ran the hse smoothly. I'm a different story.

We've been thru the likes of trying to teach me how to pick college classes, whether i should go to orientation, gin rummy, and boggle. still puzzles us all how my brother can beat even yayai at boggle. it's ok, we're all still young. Even the likes of my graduation and going to Santa Anita Race Track. that was a memorable day indeed. Thx for coming, yayah. she's teaching me the ropes and ur help is very much appreciated yayah. te amo mucho.
Thinzar...is burmese, but she's lived in malaysia before, so she knows what it's like when i talk about the rain and thunder. hahaha...and lizards..hahahaha....gotta love the lizards (NOT). anyways, known her since 8th grade. we're punching buddies. of course, both of us have long forgotten y we punch each other in the first place. it's just good fun to sneak up on her. she's a punk-pop fan, and a bsb fan. so she likes everything from simple plan to backstreet boys. she keeps her profile on aim updated, but she's not much of a blogger person.

well...she plays the guitar and has common symptoms of ADD and OCD. lol, so she's been learning bits of songs. She's always wearing shirts that r too big for her and always have the same breakfast, the same way everyday (at least when she was at school anyway). She'll prolly get mad after reading this blurb...ahaha, and i like to beat her to "punch"-ing each other (does that even make sense??) on aim. she is a co-founder of the guitar club at ahs (if i'm not mistaken). she's an only child and therefore either spoiled or really rich..hahahah.. (i'm thinking both).
Wilson is a multi-talented person, who's in a band, can sing, write songs, and play some basketball...he's also lian's cousin, and i've also known him since 8th grade (even tho he left for a few yrs and then came back in junior yr). anyway, he's trying to write poetry...so good luck w/ that wilson, just don't try to hard. doesn't work that way (at least not for me). he's gonna be starting at cal poly this fall (thinzar too).

His house was on the way to my old house, so we always walked to the crossing (where when the walking light was green, we'd go our separate ways). We'd try to go play basketball, but then it wouldn't work coz sr yr turned out more busy than we thought (at least while i was there). We both miss the crosswalk......and now we're really going our separate ways in life. Perhaps one day, i'll return to Arcadia....
Jessica!!! She's like my sister too, and i've known her since the summer before junior yr. we were in culinary arts together. and that was great fun, all that cooking...and even jess being super worried about the cup she broke. since then, jess also became attached to my mom's curry (which i can't make, but jess wants it anyway). she'll be attending uci this fall along w/ many other apaches.

after culinary arts, we had spanish w/ the great, kind, yet hard profe. it was fun, profe singing happy birthday to me in spanish (followed by the class). and jess turning back to ask me how to solve something. hahaha...jess is smarter than she'd admit. uci...w/ so much competition. she was also part of apn, and that stressed her out a bit, but she liked it. so, we've been thru the likes of everything from a big taco to jeff being at berkeley. hahahah...don't get mad jess...
Gracieee....man...grace is so cool, i'm really gonna miss her when this qtr ends. and when she graduates in march! omg....then she's gonna go do her masters. I usually need 2 things to complete my week, seeing Tom on MWF, and Grace on Tuesdays and Thursdays before our boring class....We could talk for hours, me and Grace, from the very beginning of our friendship. I can't believe I didn't run away from her, i'm sure she's thinking the same thing...hee hee...in fact, i know she's thinking why the heck am i still hanging out w/ her? hahahah...she thinks she's crazy and weird, but i know she's not...and i've known her like what? 2 months? crazy good.

She's actually 1 of the 2 outside friends i've made since starting college (Tom is the other one). Like, outside meaning not including ppl who live in my dorm building. But Grace is so nice and determined. Between the two of us, we have world visions. hahahha...our vision of salvaging this world. me w/ the computers and technology, grace w/ the mind and feelings....so we balance each other out. grace is a sociology major. hmmm.....i don't mind this qtr after all, but life has to go on. Grace has to graduate sooner or later. and it'll be sooner than later in her case.
Another JULIEE!!! well, she's my roommate, and so far we've gotten along amazingly well. hahahaha....she's just mad if i don't wake up to my alarm clock (believe me, u need someone to wake u up no matter what if u r really super tired and it's cold out or something!). so we are very understanding of each other, which is good since we've barely known each other for like 2 full months....so, i'm glad we have each other in these hard, yet fun times. for we are in between teenagehood and adulthood....as if there was such a thing.

well....she's a rock lover and she plays ultimate frisbee! even though it's freezing cold out, she's running around playing ultimate frisbee...yay julie! umm....she likes to work out a lot. and she can sew (she got a little sewing machine!). she is an artist, so u see her work in our living room decor. hahahah....her contribution is greatly appreciated. she's a myspace junkie, but not as bad as her friend, sarah, tho...hahaha. jk, u know i love u guys. ok....so we're gonna go and enjoy college now....hahaha....
Marguerite Leoni!!!! she's like an angel to us in 110 emerson. and it's been a lot of fun getting to know her and getting to live with her. she is a fun loving girl, but she keeps her morals high. she knows how to set her priorities straight, so we're proud of her for that. we're proud of her for a lot of things. i'm glad things are working out this way. but i better not jinx it! i won't...anyways, yea....she's a soccer player, and was doing gymnastics for winter qtr. and she is body smart. she's the athlete of the suite. she's also smart at chem and calculus!!! thank goodness for that....

she loves her oldies music, too bad i'm not good at remembering or knowing what song she's talking about.....oops. so yea. she can do handstands, and getting there with other flippy things. we don't wanna corrupt this girl. she's so good. lol. she wakes up happy practically everyday. so it's a golden opportunity when she wakes up a little out of it. or when she gets that way. like, if she's tired....jk. i love this girl too. she's opened our eyes to innocence. thank you marguerite.
Gabriella Wong.....she's the last crazy girl that i'm living w/ this yr!! she overworks herself, sometimes. and she's tiny too...so i dunno how she handles it, but she's getting better at it, which isn't necessarily a good thing. she's definitely not a morning person. so the golden opportunity here is when she's up at 8am, having breakfast with you...hahahahaa.....i love u gabby. don't get mad. she's fun-loving too, and she works hard. she is a poli sci major, and that requires a lot. she knows sign language!!! and she'll listen to u talk and give some feedback..hahahaha.

well, she likes her hip-hop/r&b stuff....lol. she loves coffee coz it has been her best friend this winter qtr. go figure w/ the number of all-niters she's pulled off. half the time i don't see her till my day's half over. lol. i'm glad she's keeping up. she prolly has the best grades of the four of us. well, marg too, actually. they might be at par w/ each other, but in very different subject matters....lol. anyways, yea.....she's from union city, ca. and she doesn't go home as much anymore. she's been at college, enjoying it w/ us. it's been good fun. watching too many movies and all....oh, one last word, this girl can hold her own when it comes to eating! love ya gabby....
Dearest Mark Rioux...he's like our honorary suitemate now. it's been fun getting to know him too. he was my programming partner for ecs30,and that was a lot of hard work and a lot of hours that we put in coz of programming. so we end up talking a lot to each other, eating at the dc a lot, coming back late. going to t.a office hours! it's been work, work, work. he's from hanford, same town as marguerite. he brought us back ice cream! and we had a hard time finishing it up coz both marg and him gave up sweets/desserts for lent. hahahahaa....he is a jerk sometimes, but at other times very appreciating and sweet to us in 110. lol. he's mischievious sometimes, and likes to talk, which is good? just never start talk nites w/ him at like 2am in the morning. lol. we can talk forever and a day.

he loves computers, hence the computer science and engineering major. he gets distracted easily. he makes me keep secrets, so i keep 'em. i dunno if i can trust him tho...hahahaha. he's a magnet for girls and drama. lol. poor guy. yea, he is very curious, so never start telling or saying anything to him that u don't wanna explain. hahahah...he'll pester u to death. thank goodness for my stubborness...and i'm good at lying. he loves his truck and doing that up. glad we got a chance to get to know each other. he's added to our social lives.
